Be a MiND Underwriter
As we reinvent television, MiND retains some of its public television roots.
Underwriting Spots
You probably know that public television does not allow traditional commercial advertising. We do, however, encourage 15-second and 30-second announcements of support for MiND. Typically, these are called “underwriting spots.”
Every hour of MiND includes 3 x 15-second spots and 3 x 30-second spots. We keep the pricing of these spots very simple: $75 for each 15-second spot and $100 for each 30-second spot. The proceeds from these support announcements are used for MiND’s operating budget.
These are not commercials, so they must abide by certain rules regarding public television underwriting. Please review our editorial guidelines.
Program Underwriting
In public television, the term “underwriting” has a second meaning: the full or partial funding of programs. You’ve probably seen the underwriting announcements at the end of PBS programs (“This program was made possible by General Motors.”) We offer a similar option, but our situation is quite different from PBS.
We offer program underwriting/funding packages for individual 5-minute programs, for groups of 5-minute programs, and for full hours comprised of eleven, 5-minute programs.
