Foundation & Grant Relationships

Independence Media is a non-profit organization that works hard to provide a valuable community asset, but we can’t do it alone. We rely upon the generous support of government agencies and private foundations, and we work closely with these organizations to build mutually beneficial partnerships.

We welcome grants in support of general operations, special events, marketing and outreach, and the MiNDShare, The Community Investment Fund. We also accept funding for projects in specific programming areas, including Arts and Culture, the Environment, Media Justice, Public Affairs, and Children’s Programming, to name a few. In addition, we look to foundations to enable programming collaborations between MiND and other non-profit organizations.

Foundation and government support is recognized on-air and online. We currently work with the William Penn Foundation, the Philadelphia Foundation, the Sustainable Development Fund, the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts, and various government agencies and departments.
