Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration is responsible for determining whether consumers are eligible to get "extra help" to pay for their Medicare Part D prescription drug plan costs - premiums, co-pays, and deductibles. Topics covered include the January 2010 rule changes regarding certain income and assets pertaining to Part D extra help eligibility, as well as a new process to refer consumers to their state assistance agencies for possible enrollment in other Medicare Savings Plans.
